Dollar General appears to be coming to Port Byron, but the national chain of variety stores has yet to confirm the new location. In a statement emailed Thursday, Dollar General Communications Coordinator Nolan Miles said the chain is “currently in the due diligence phase” for a new location at 72-74 Utica St. in the village.
“We’re interested in adding a new location to Cayuga County, but have not committed to doing so yet,” he said. “Based on our current timeline, I anticipate a decision will not be made on this project until early winter.”
